How Natalie Fobes Photographs Weddings

Q- Do you offer packages and if so can you send them to me?

A- We work a little different than many photographers and I understand the desire to get pricing information quickly. We customize our collections for each couple in order to give them the very best value for their investment. To do this we offer a complimentary “get-to-know-you” session to go over your hopes and dreams and needs for your wedding day photography. The investment in photography starts at $3000. Contact Natalie today to schedule a meeting!

Q- How long have you been photographing weddings?

A- In 2001 I added weddings to my photo repertoire. That year my husband and I adopted two children from China and I wanted to stay home instead of traveling overseas for the magazines. Since that time I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings and loved being able to capture the candid moments and artistic portraits that tell the story of my wedding couples.

Q- Do you work with a second photographer?

A- After years of working for National Geographic, I’m totally comfortable photographing by myself. However, I do encourage couples to consider adding a second photographer. Not only do you get two viewpoints, you receive additional photographs. My go-to guy for ten years is JJ Cariaso, a professional photographer. We’ve worked so long together that we just need to look at each other to know what’s on our minds!

Q- How many photos do we end up with in the end?

A- Every wedding is different but depending on the time you have us there, the number is between 500 and 1100. Of course these are optimized with our unique vision so that you can print them or use them on digital devices. The total number you receive is actually twice the final number quoted here because I include a complete set processed in black and white for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!

Q- Why do you include a complete set of color images and a complete set of black and white?

A- I began in newspapers and love the classic style of black and white photography. My couples LOVE having both color and BW images.

Q- Is there an easy way for the guests to see all the photos?

A- I include a password-protected gallery that anyone can view, share, download, or order prints.

Q- Can I see some full galleries?

A- I’d be happy to show you some. Please email me at Natalie@fobesphoto.com.

Q- Do you have couples we can talk with?

A- Yes, send me an email and I’ll send you a list. Let me know how many you’d like to talk with.

Q- If we hired you, what can we expect?

A- The Nordstrom of wedding photography! I believe that great wedding photography begins with great communication and planning. I will immediately send you my booklet full of wedding planning tips. We’ll meet at least once and maybe twice before the wedding day. About three months before your date I’ll ask you for a draft group shot list and schedule of the day. I’ll make suggestions and organize the groups for maximum fun and efficiency. I’ll talk with the wedding planner (if applicable), the venue coordinator and the DJ to make sure we’re on the same page. I’ll visit the venue if I haven’t shot there before. We may even meet there to talk about locations for couple shots and finalize the wedding day plan. My second shooter and I will go over everything so that we’ll be a great team.

I routinely spend more than 40 hours on each wedding I photograph. When comparing photographers remember that it’s not just about the number of hours on the wedding day!

Q- What kind of cameras do you shoot with?

A- We use Canon cameras, lenses and flash. Natalie uses two cameras at all times and the second photographer uses one.

Q- Do you travel for weddings?

A- Absolutely!

Q- Do we have rights to print our photos?

A- Yes. I include a copyright letter when I deliver the images via Dropbox. Or, you can have us print them for you.

Q- How long does it take to get our photographs?

A- I guarantee that you will have your photographs within four weeks. The day after the wedding I begin working on the photographs. I can’t wait to see them!

Q- What types of payment do you accept?

A- Check, cash or credit card.

Q- What is required to book you?

A- Once you’re returned the signed contract and a $1000 deposit I reserve the date.
